River Metals Recycling Newport Achieves SHARP Recertification

Newport Scrap Recycler had no lost time injuries for 10 straight years. River Metals Recycling (RMR) Newport received the prestigious SHARP (Safety & Health Achievement Recognition Program) recertification for taking extraordinary measures to ensure the safety and health of all teammates. RMR’s exceptional safety record garnered the company recertification, which was presented by Kentucky Secretary of Labor Derrick Ramsey. RMR Newport achieved the original SHARP certification in December, 2013 and was the first recycling facility in Kentucky to earn SHARP status. Today, RMR is the first Kentucky recycling facility to be SHARP recertified. The Newport Kentucky facility was recognized for its commitment to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace. SHARP is one of the highest honors OSHA awards to small worksites that demonstrate an exemplary commitment to workplace safety and health. Mr. Bob Eviston, RMR President, thanked all of the RMR teammates for operating for ten straight years without any lost time injuries.
