David Joseph Purchases Recycling Center and Palm Beach Recycling
On March 1, 2006, The David J. Joseph Company (DJJ), Cincinnati, Ohio purchased the assets and business of Recycling Center of Palm Beach County and Palm Beach
Recycling, previously owned and operated by Phil and John Everett. Recycling Center
has been operating as a self-serve used auto parts store since 1972.
DJJ will operate the West Palm self serve used auto parts store under its U-Pull-&-Pay
(UPAP) subsidiary, but plans to continue to use the Recycling Center name during
a transition period.
The West Palm site spans 17 acres, and will hold 1,300 automobiles on stands for
the retail public to remove needed body panels, drive train components, or other auto accessories for purchase. Bill Peterson is the West Palm UPAP Store Manager.
Mr. Peterson brings experience from U-Wrench-It and Pick ‘n Pull to the UPAP West
Palm store.
U-Pull-&-Pay currently has greenfield sites under development in Cincinnati
and Orlando. The Cincinnati store is a 20 acre site which will hold 1,300 cars on
stands. Dave Eisenacher is the Cincinnati UPAP Store Manager. Mr. Eisenacher has
been with the DJJ family of companies for nearly 16 years, serving most recently
as Commercial Director for River Metals Recycling in Newport, Kentucky. The Cincinnati
UPAP store is projected to open by year-end 2006.
The Orlando Florida store is a 32 acre site which will hold 2,000 cars on stands.
The projected opening of the Orlando UPAP retail store is summer, 2006.
The David J. Joseph Company was founded in 1885. In addition to its newest U-Pull-&-Pay
stores, DJJ brokers ferrous and nonferrous metals, pig iron, and HBI/DRI; supplies Ferro-Alloys; processes ferrous and nonferrous scrap; and provides a comprehensive suite of complementary services including logistics, industrial, mill/rail, and railcar lease, purchase, sale and finance.
