DJJ Purchases Northwest Recycling

On February 21, 2006, The David J. Joseph Company (DJJ), Cincinnati, Ohio purchased the assets and business of Northwest Recycling of Houston from WalNew, a joint venture owned by Alan and Carol Walker, and John Newell. Northwest Recycling has been operating for over thirty years and includes a full service scrap processing facility with an automobile shredder. Also included is a 23 acre parcel on the Houston Ship Channel at the Port of Houston where DJJ plans to install a new mega shredder, with start-up operations planned in early 2007.

DJJ will operate the Houston processing facility under the Texas Port Recycling (TPR) name. Daniel L. Bonivich, currently president of DJJ’s Western Metals Recycling LLC is the President and General Manager of the newly created Texas Port Recycling limited partnership. Jeff Davis, currently serving as General Manager at Trademark Metal’s Tampa Port facility, will succeed Dan Bonivich as president of Western Metals.

Alan Walker and his daughters Kari Coffey and Shari Conner will be retained by DJJ as part of the TPR management team. John Newell will continue to run his other Texas scrap processing facilities in San Antonio and Eagle Pass.
