River Metals Recycling LLC (RMR),, headquartered in Fort Mitchell, KY, recently achieved ISO 9001-2000 certification. RMR committed to achieving ISO certification in an ongoing effort to realize continual improvement and in consideration of supplier and customer-driven demand for quality products and services.
This certification validates The Company’s overall management system, emphasizing its longstanding role as a leading scrap supplier and reaffirms its continuing commitment to excellence. This quality initiative allows RMR to sustain their long-term competitiveness and realize stronger market performance as discerning customers and suppliers are becoming more quality conscious.
To become accredited, a company must undergo a rigorous evaluation of all its quality systems, performed by an independent auditor. “The ISO 9001 accreditation is a milestone in the history of RMR and something for which we are extremely proud”, said Alan Crouch, President. RMR was able to go from implementation to certification in just over 7 months. The Company attributed the rapid completion of the tests and certification to the strength of systems and procedures in place even before the work on ISO began.
RMR is the region’s largest scrap processor, with yards in Newport, Louisville, Henderson, and Somerset, KY. RMR’s equipment includes three automobile shredders, one aluminum shredder, four balers, three shears, three auto crushers and 2 bulk scrap analyzers. River Metals Recycling is a wholly owned venture of Cincinnati-based The David J. Joseph Company, the USA’s largest scrap company.
