Blending Secondary Ferrous Scrap Grades Using proprietary software, we blend secondary scrap to achieve aim chemistry, while reducing melt costs. Our custom optimization software uses linear programs to account for other conversion costs (yield, fluxes, KWH) and generates a true least cost charge design to help consumers achieve their desired finished product quality with the least-cost raw materials. Today, we provide scrap blending services at 3 U.S. locations. Each mill service operation is site-specific, and custom tailored to maximize our customer’s productivity and profitability.
